Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California is one if my very favorite wedding venues. Not to mention, one of the best wedding venues in California hands down. It has privacy with having to be a part of the Preserve or invited by a guest to be able to host wedding at the property. It is also just a short drive to iconic Carmel-by-the sea beach with adorable shops and excellent restaraunt offerings. It truly feels like a home away from home. 

For the wedding, the preserve offers a beautiful Hacienda and Ranch house to get ready with all your friends. It is bright and has many options for photos. The staff treats you like royalty bringing refreshements and room service as needed.  The ceremony locations can vary based on your prioririties. A short drive away is an epic redwood grove for a serene and peaceful ceremony surrounded by hundred year old Redwoods. You can also choose the onsite garden or beautifully maintained lawn with views of the rolling hills the Preserve is known for. Nature surrounds you at all the locations and it is breathtaking. Truly a refuge and experience for your guests. 

The photo opportunities are endless. So much to choose from stunning vistas as sunset, to amazing greenery and trees. It is a photographers heaven. 

The reception is hosted in the large barn, which can be decorated in whatever fashion you desire. From hanging lights to carpeting the floor and building a stage. Kindred Events Co. and Mindy Rice Design brought in custom banquette seating and carpet to bring a warmth and make this space feel like home. It is truly one of a kind location. I have had to honor of photographing over 5 weddings at The Santa Lucia Preserve and each one is unique to the couple. Below are a few of my favorite images from these celebrations.
