As featured on Martha Stewart Weddings last week.
You can see and read more about their love, plus wedding insight in link above. Mika and Steve wed at the picturesque GreenGate Ranch Weddings in San Luis Obispo (otherwise known to Locals as SLO). It is a quaint beachside town with charm and a great foodie scene.
Talk about a love story that wows! These two met at through friends and years later ended up falling in love, although Steve says it was” love at first site” all those years ago.

M & S wanted to combine their love of classic elegant details with the charm of a ranch and they hired Tyler Speier Events to help bring their vision to life. With a two toned design and cohesive floral color palette everything was elevated chic. Be sure to check out the detail photos below if you want some elegant rustic inspiration.

GreenGate Ranch and Vineyard is a slice of heaven. With SO SO SO many wonderful locations for photos, it is a photographers dream! Mika and Steve chose to do a first look, which also was the time when they exchanged gifts with each other. Mika got Steve a puppy and it was amazing to see his reaction!!

We chose to have most of the photos completed before the ceremony, so Steve and Mika could enjoy cocktail hour with the ones they love. Guests were greeted with a champagne wall hosting their table number, plus absolutely delicious farm to table appetizers and live music. Everything turned out absolutely stunning!

I hope you enjoy!! And I can’t forget Mika’s Anne Barge gown and Gucci heels! A perfect combination of elegance!

Mika designed by hand her own invitations with help of her Aunt. Didn’t they turn out beautifully!

From the Editor: Sara Dickinson at Martha Stewart Weddings

“Mika Vallarta and Steve Marchica met during their sophomore year at Loyola Marymount University, just before a sorority event. “He will tell you it was love at first sight,” Mika says. “I, on the other hand, was dating a friend of a friend.” Steve patiently waited until Mika ended her relationship—actually, he waited for quite some time. “We didn’t start dating until we graduated college,” she says.

Seven years after the couple first met, they were enjoying each other’s company in Manhattan Beach (the spot where they first said, “I love you“) when Steve asked Mika to be his wife. He hired a photographer to capture every moment of the proposal and flew Mika’s parents in to celebrate the engagement with them the next day.

The happy couple, based in New York City, worked with Tyler Speier Events to design and plan a timeless wedding, which took place on May 25, 2019, across the country in California. They invited 150 guests to join them for their religious ceremony at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Arroyo Grande followed by a lively reception at Greengate Ranch and Vineyard in San Luis Obispo. Mika has a design background, so she was thrilled that Tyler understood her vision of juxtaposing elegant, classic details against the stunning ranch setting. The result? An event defined by its neutral color palette, punctuated with plenty of wood elements and metallic accents—and a party that proves you absolutely can meld rustic with traditional décor.”
